3 days - 2 nights

Yangon, the capital of Burma, which already has over 5 million inhabitants, presents itself with its magnificent pagodas and typical markets. Yangon was the capital of Myanmar until 2005, when the seat of government was moved to Naypyidaw (about 250 km north of Yangon). The first democratic elections took place in 2015, which Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi, Nobel Peace Prize winner and independence fighter, won with a clear majority. German-speaking tour guide on the city tour.

You will be picked up in Yangon with your name tag. Transfer to the booked hotel.

Day 02: Full-day city tour - German speaking tour guide.
Today we will show you the sights of the Burmese capital, which has already made a name for itself as the “garden city of Southeast Asia” with its numerous green spaces and lakes: We will take you to the most famous Buddhist pagodas, you will roam through the picturesque old town district with the German-speaking tour guide and visit the Tao Temple in China Town. Then visit the giant Reclining Buddha and the octagonal Bo Ta Taung Pagoda in the port area along the Yangon River, which is one of the nine delta arms of the vast Ayeyarwaddy. In the immediate vicinity is the newly renovated, historic colonial-style hotel “The Strand”, where we take a coffee break. Yangon is really beautiful along the Royal Lake, whose shore you follow to the Karaweik Hall, a ship-like concrete structure in the lake represents the mythological bird Karaweik; then a photo stop at the lake - and in the background the golden stupa of the Shwe Dagon Pagoda shines! Shortly before sunset, the world-famous golden 107 m high Shwedagon Pagoda, set with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires, shines, which is a true treasure chest. A single fascination! Although the exact year of construction is not known, it is known that this pagoda, which houses the relics of Buddha, was already known in the 11th century. Overnight in Yangon.
