Bangkok • Pak Chong • Wildlife tours in the national park
The still largely untouched Khao Yai National Park is one of the five best national parks in the world due to its biodiversity. For example, there is still a population of over 50 wild tigers, over 200 elephants and black bears. The national park covers an area of 2200 square kilometers at an altitude of 400 to 1400 meters and consists of a high percentage of native, centuries-old trees. Expert guides lead us through this interesting natural paradise, trained rangers show the rich fauna.
Day 1: Transfer from the airport.
You will be picked up at the airport in Bangkok with your name tag at EXIT 3 and accompanied to your hotel in Bangkok. The day is at leisure. Overnight stay in a first class hotel in Bangkok.
Day 2: Bangkok. “Special” city tour (optional).
The special city tour – life in Bangkok. Today you can organize your day freely. Relax by the pool, go shopping. If you don't know Bangkok yet, you shouldn't miss taking a city tour to see the outstanding temples and glittering gold palaces of this cosmopolitan metropolis with your German-speaking tour guide.
On this tour you will get to know the “real life” in Bangkok, the city of over a million people, with your German-speaking tour guide. He picks you up from the hotel lobby at 9:00 a.m. and takes you privately on the Skytrain, over the rooftops of Bangkok, on the subway, on the public bus, on the express boat on the Chao Phya River and the country's typical rattling Tuk tuks. In addition to the outstanding sights such as the fairytale Wat Phra Kaew, the temple of the highly revered “Emerald Buddha” and the royal palace, you drive past the river at Wat Aroon, the “Temple of the Dawn” and also see treasures that are rarely or not at all visited by tourists at. Be sure to visit the largest monastery and 1st University of Bangkok, where the 46 m long and 15 m high “Reclining Buddha” is located. A walk through China Town is also planned. It will be a very interesting and intensive tour of the cosmopolitan metropolis.
Day 03: Bangkok – Khao Yai National Park.
Drive from Bangkok to Khao Yai National Park. We move into our accommodation in Pak Chong near the national park in the new resort complex with a beautiful swimming pool, Khao Yai Nature Life Resort. The rooms are well and comfortably furnished. In the afternoon we drive to a bat cave. As darkness falls we experience an unforgettable spectacle. Over 2 million horseshoe bats fly out of a small hole in the rock to look for food. A never-ending swarm of bats trails a long black streak across the evening sky. We can climb up to this cave opening and see the animals “up close” as they search for food. In the evening, we recommend strolling through the scenic Pak Chong Night Market with a variety of local food stalls.
Day 04: Jungle hike in Khao Yai National Park – Night Safari.
We set off on this unique nature tour early in the morning. Right at the beginning we go on an approximately 2-hour jungle hike along elephant trails through untouched evergreen jungle areas with unique exotic flora, where the natural history guide gives us a lot of information about the animals that we can observe in the wild. Our The first destination is an idyllic wildlife observation tower on the lake, where we can take a short break and enjoy the beautiful view. Then we drive deeper into the jungle to the largest waterfall, Haeo Narok (Devil's Gorge). This impressive 60 meter high waterfall, with its sheer rock faces and breathtaking views from the highest vantage point over the park's mountain ridges, reflects the full wildness of the national park.
Night safari with ranger
In the evening a ranger is waiting for us, with whom we set off on the night safari. On this night game we drive in a pick-up truck with special halogen headlights through untouched mountain forest and a steppe plateau, where we can still see many wild animal species. Sambas (a special species of deer), civet cats and pine martens line our path. Elephants, gibbons, tapirs, wild boars, porcupines and prosimians can also sometimes be found. Overnight at the resort.
Day 05: Transfer to Bangkok. After breakfast we drive back to Bangkok.
