This trekking tour takes you to the area of Doi Chiang Dao, Thailand's third highest mountain. The trek is not strenuous (4-5 hours of walking daily) and most of the time leads through densely forested areas, sometimes along refreshing small streams. During the trekking tour you will stay overnight in huts with the various mountain tribes. This tour is run by Accompanied by a German speaking tour guide.


Day 01: Chiang Mai - city tour. Craft businesses. 
Morning transfer from the airport or train station to the hotel. City tour in Chiang Mai.
We visit Wat Doi Suthep, which is 800 m above Chiang Mai. This temple with a golden chedi is a jewel among Thai monasteries and offers a magnificent panoramic view of Chiang Mai. After lunch, we visit the world-famous craft workshops in Bo Sang and San Khampeng. Drive to Lamphun, where we visit the interesting temple complex Wat Haripunchai (9th to 12th century) with its gold-plated chedi. Afterwards we recommend a shopping spree in the well-known Night Bazaar.
Overnight in Chiang Mai.




Day 02: Chiang Mai - Chiang Dao. F.M.A.
Depart from your hotel in the morning by air-conditioned minibus heading north to Chiang Dao. On the way, a short stop at the elephant camp and the mystical cave of Chiang Dao. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to a Lisu mountain village. From here we continue on foot through dense forest to an idyllic Lahu village. Overnight in Lahu village.


Day 03: Chiang Mai - Chiang Dao. F.M.A.
The trek continues through mostly forested areas at the foot of Doi Chiang Dao, surrounded by beautiful mountain wilderness. In the afternoon, experience a unique elephant safari through the mountain jungle.
Today's overnight stay in a Karen mountain village.



Day 04: Chiang Dao - Chiang Mai. F.M.A.
Today's hike takes you from the forested mountain wilderness down into the valley. For relaxation, you can enjoy a leisurely ride on a bamboo raft. After lunch at a local restaurant, transfer back to Chiang Mai to your hotel, train station or airport.

 

Information:
- Not a particularly strenuous trek.
- No more than 4-5 hours of walking daily.
- A small backpack, sleeping bag or blanket will be provided for you.
- We recommend bringing a sweater or jacket during the cool season (Dec-Feb).
- Autan or a similar mosquito repellent can also be very useful.
- Malaria prophylaxis is appropriate.
- Full board on this tour.
