Today we will show you the sights of the Burmese capital, which is already known as the “garden city of Southeast Asia” with its numerous green spaces and lakes has made a name for itself: We will take you to the most famous Buddhist pagodas; you will wander through the picturesque old town district with the old post office with the German-speaking tour guide. Short café stop at the legendary, colonial-style Strand Hotel. Yangon is really beautiful along the Royal Lake, whose shore you follow to the Karaweik Hall, a ship-like concrete structure in the lake that represents the mythological bird Karaweik; Then there is a photo stop at the lake. Shortly before sunset, the world-famous golden 107 m high Shwedagon Pagoda, set with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires, shines and is a true treasure chest. A single fascination!
Overnight in Yangon.

Morning 1 ½ hour flight from Yangon to Bagan. Sunset.
You will be picked up by your German-speaking tour guide with a name tag. Overnight stay in Bangan.

Day 04: Bagan – optional: Balloon ride (VIP) - Mount Poppa – Bagan.
Optional: Balloon ride: The magnificent pagodas of Bagan (€350 per person)
The balloon ride is an indescribable experience. You will be picked up from the hotel at around 5 a.m. After the champagne ceremony, you will take a balloon ride over the 2,000 pagodas that still exist. After breakfast at the hotel, continue your sightseeing of Bagan. To the Olympus of the Spirits.
Excursion Mount Popa. In the morning you stroll through the large market of Nyaung U, which gives an insight into the way of life of the Burmese. Then admire the almost Gothic-looking architecture of the magnificent Ananda Temple, which many consider to be the most beautiful and art-historically important temple in Bagan. Then you drive to the 1500 m high Popaberg, the home of the gods. This mountain rises from the central plain of Bagan. The former active volcano is still the seat of the Burmese Nats - spirits of the water, the mountains, the ancestors, the heroes - and is therefore also the central meeting point for many Burmese spirit worshipers and necromancers. From the monastery, located on the cone of Mount Popa, you can experience an overwhelming view of Bagan. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 05: Flight Bagan – Mandalay 08:35/09:05)
Transfer to the hotel in Mandalay.
City tour - visit to the “Golden City of Mandalay”.
Today we undertake a detailed full-day tour of the historic city: we take you to the teak gold monastery Shwe Nandaw, the only remaining structure of more than 100 buildings that once formed the palace complex of the Konbaung kings, a palace known as " "Wonder of the World" - and the one that burned during the Second World War. We then go to the Kuthodaw Pagoda, which is also called the "largest book on earth" because of the 729 marble tablets into which the entire Buddhist canon was carved on the occasion of the 5th Buddhist Council - it would take half a year just to read it. And then marvel at the dimensions of the marble Buddha.
If you still feel fit, then please - Mandalay Hill can be "conquered" via steps. From the top you have a fantastic view of the "Golden City". (But you can also drive by car and the last part with the Lift – highly recommended).

Day 06: Mandalay – Pin Oo Lwin – Amarapura – U – Bein Bridge - Sagaing. Pin Oo Lwin in the Shan Highlands is our destination today. The scenic serpentine road winds steeply uphill, flanked by dense mountain jungle, through a multitude of small villages at 1,450 m to Pin Oo Lwin, the former hill station of the English. The British architectural style is also reflected in the entire cityscape. The miniature version of “Big Ben” is also in the middle of In Pyin Oo Lwin. In the city, many see horse-drawn carriages, which are the main means of transport (“taxis”) here. In Pin Oo Lwin we visit the 175 hectare colorful botanical garden.

Day 07: Flight Mandalay – Heho (09:20/09:50 h). Transfer to Nyaungshwe. Boat transfer to the pile dwelling hotel (villa) in the lake.
To the Shan plateau. The flight up to the Shan plateau, a Thai ethnic group in Myanmar, only takes 30 minutes. From there begins the scenic overland journey to Nyaungshwe, formerly the seat of a powerful Shan prince. Boat transfer to your idyllic hotel. First boat trip and encounter with the one-legged rowers, the Inthas (sons of the lake), who are also the architects of the floating gardens and stilt villages that dominate the lake. Overnight stay in a stilt hotel in Inle Lake.

Day 08: Full day boat trip. Overnight at Inle Lake.
Today you will spend the whole day on Inle Lake in a small boat. You marvel at the leg-rowing fishermen, from the Intha people, who built their pagodas on artificial islands in the lake, made famous by their peculiar fishing technique in which they row with one leg; they are also the architects of the floating villages and gardens. The lives of these people, who originally immigrated from the south of Burma, are completely focused on the lake. Visit to the “floating market”, a traditional weaving mill for Intha textiles and the large pagoda with the five holy Buddhas, the Phaung Daw O. The Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda was only built in the 1960s on an artificial island in the middle of the lake 5 holy Buddha statues are preserved. Once a year (Oct - Nov) they are rowed on a golden barge around the lake, from village to village. In the Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery there are beautiful Buddha figures in magnificent altars - if you wish, the monks can demonstrate trained cats that jump through a held-up hoop. Admire the floating gardens; You will also visit the floating market. When the sun sinks like an orange behind the Shan Mountains, have a drink served on the terrace of the See-Hotel: “Cheers” to a beautiful day!
