    Day 01: Arrival in Yangon At the airport you will be welcomed by a German-speaking Burmese tour guide with your name tag, who will be waiting for you with your name tag. Transfer to the hotel.


    Day 02: Yangon city tour.
    Yangon, the largest city in Burma with over 5 million inhabitants, presents itself with its magnificent pagodas and typical markets. Today we will show you the sights of the Burmese capital, which has already made a name for itself as the “garden city of Southeast Asia” with its numerous green spaces and lakes: We will take you to the most famous Buddhist pagodas, you will roam the picturesque old town district with the German-speaking tour guide old post office. In the famous colonial hotel “THE STRAND” you should treat yourself to a short break for a coffee.

     

    Day 03: Flight: Yangon – Bagan (06:30/07:50) - Sightseeing of Bagan.
    Morning 1 ½ hour flight from Yangon to Bagan. Sunset.
    You will be picked up by your German-speaking tour guide with a name tag. Overnight stay in Bangan.

     

    The full-day visit to Bagan, which was founded as the first capital of the Burmese in the 11th century, is a highlight of this exquisite and demanding tour. Pure culture! Of the countless pagodas and temple ruins that adorn this city, we will show you only the most beautiful prototypes - in detail and at your leisure. After lunch, the day tour continues with temples and pagodas in the southern region of Bagan. 


    Day 04: Bagan – optional: Balloon ride (VIP) - Mount Poppa – Bagan.
    Optional: Balloon ride: The magnificent pagodas of Bagan.
    The balloon ride is an indescribable experience. You will be picked up from the hotel at around 5 a.m. After the champagne ceremony, you will take a balloon ride over the approximately 2,000 pagodas that still exist. After breakfast at the hotel, you will continue your sightseeing in Bagan You walk through the large market of Nyaung U, which gives an insight into the Burmese way of life. Then admire the almost Gothic-looking architecture of the magnificent Ananda Temple, which many consider to be the most beautiful and art-historically important temple in Bagan. Then you drive to the 1500 m high Popaberg, the home of the gods. This mountain rises from the central plain of Bagan. The former active volcano is still the seat of the Burmese Nats - spirits of the water, the mountains, the ancestors, the heroes - and is therefore also the central meeting point for many Burmese spirit worshipers and necromancers. From the monastery, located on the cone of Mount Popa, you can experience an overwhelming view of Bagan. Overnight in Bagan.

    Day 05: Bagan – Mandalay – Pin Oo Lwin.
    Flight from Bagan to Mandalay. Pin Oo Lwin in the Shan Highlands is our destination today. The scenic serpentine road from Mandalay winds steeply uphill, flanked by dense mountain jungle, through a multitude of small villages at 1,450 m to Pin Oo Lwin, the former hill station of the English. The British architectural style is also reflected in the entire cityscape. The miniature version of “Big Ben” is also in the middle of In Pyin Oo Lwin. In the city you will see many horse-drawn carriages, which are the main means of transport (“taxis”) here. In Pin Oo Lwin we visit the 175 hectare colorful botanical garden (possibly on the return journey). Overnight stay in Pin Oo Lwin.






    Day 06: Pin Oo Lwin – Naung Cho – by train via the Gothic viaduct to Naungpain. Drive to Hispaw.
    Today is an absolute highlight of our wonderful trip through Myanmar. We travel about 1 hour by bus to Naung Cho, where we visit a colorful, scenic Shan market. We continue by train. An absolutely scenic and adventurous ride. However, you won't have to spend too long in the ancient carriages; we'll get you off the train after about 2 hours and take the bus on to Hispaw. We stay in a simple resort. 


    Day 07: Hispaw – Mandalay. In the morning we visit the former princess's Shan Palace (if the political situation allows it - currently possible). Then we drive to Madalay by car. A very scenic drive. In Pin Oo Lwin we make a short stop at the Botanical Garden then drive to Mandalay, where we spend the night.


    Day 08: Visit to the “Golden City” Mandalay. Amarapura – U Bein Bridge - Sagaing.
    The detailed all-day sightseeing program begins in the morning: We will take you to the teak gold monastery Shwe Nandaw, the only structure that still exists today out of more than 100 buildings that once formed the palace complex of the Konbaung kings, a palace that was classified as a "wonder of the world" - and the one that burned in World War II. We then go to the Kuthodaw Pagoda, which is also called the "largest book on earth" because of the 729 marble tablets into which the entire Buddhist canon was carved on the occasion of the 5th Buddhist Council. And then marvel at the dimensions of the marble Buddha. If you still feel fit, then please - Mandalay Hill can be "conquered" via steps.

    In the afternoon, visit the Mahamuni Temple with the famous Arakan (Mahamuni) Buddha made of pure gold and browse the shops around this temple for old and new treasures. After a short drive we reach Amarapura (a name in Sanskrit that means "beautiful city") with its temples and pagodas. There you can also walk over the U Bein Bridge, the longest teak bridge in the world, built 200 years ago. Overnight stay in Mandalay.



     

    Day 09: Flight: Mandalay – Heho – Inle Lake.
    Short flight (20 mins) Mandalay – Heho – transfer to Nyaungshwe. Boat transfer to the pile dwelling hotel in the lake.
    To the Shan plateau. Flight up to the Shan plateau, a Thai ethnic group in Myanmar. From there begins the scenic overland journey to Nyaungshwe, the former seat of a powerful Shan prince. Boat transfer to your idyllic hotel. First boat trip and encounter with the one-legged rowers, the Inthas (sons of the lake), who are also the architects of the floating gardens and stilt villages that dominate the lake. Overnight stay in a stilt hotel in Inle Lake.

    Day 10: Full day boat trip.
    Overnight at Inle Lake.





    Day 11: Heho - Mandalay - onward flight or Heho - Thandwe - Ngapali Beach with a few beautiful days of swimming on the beautiful beach on the Bay of Bengal.
