10 days - 9 nights

 

Day 1: Flight: Bangkok - Siem Reap (Angkor Wat).
Arrival in Siem Reap. Transfer to the hotel, briefly freshen up and set off for the sightseeing tour. In the afternoon, a detailed tour of what is probably the most spectacular building ever built by the human spirit, namely Angkor Wat, is on the sightseeing program. Overnight stay in Siem Reap.


Day 2: Visit to Angkor Wat.
In the morning we visit the 12th century. Built, 20 meter high south gate of Angkor Thom, which is surrounded by stone elephant trunks and where 4 stone, huge faces look in all directions.
We also visit Baksei Chamkrong (10th century), a brick-built temple complex with 5 Buddha statues, as well as the Bayon temple complex, built in the 12th century, with extraordinary reliefs 1,200 m long and with over 11,000 figures. Visit the temple complex built in the 12th century . built temple complexes Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda as well as Ta Nei, Ta Promh, a Buddhist temple complex where almost 13,000 people lived. We also visit Ta Keo (10th century), the first sandstone building in Angkor, the 400 m wide and 800 m long Shra Srang ablution basin and the Prasat Kravan, Kuticvara, Bat Chum and Bantheay Kdei facilities. Trip to the largest inland lake in Southeast Asia, Lake Toenlesap, and take a long boat trip. Enjoy the sunset and the peaceful twilight on the huge lake. It is interesting to observe the life of the Cambodian fishermen and the Vietnamese minorities on the houseboats. Overnight in Siem Reap.



Day 3: Flight Siem Reap – Saigon.
Transfer to the airport. You will be picked up in Saigon with your name tag.
Transfer to the booked hotel. Overnight in Saigon.



Day 4: Saigon city tour and Cu Chi tunnels - German speaking tour guide. In the morning we drive to the Cu Chi tunnels, 70 km from Ho Chi Minh. During the Vietnam War, the Viet Cong built a 200 km long and up to 40 m deep tunnel system that served as a strategic base, command center, but also as a medical station and living area. Of course, this tunnel system was attacked daily by the Americans. In the afternoon you will visit the Presidential Palace in Saigon, make a photo stop at the Notre Dame Church and visit the old main post office. Relics of the French colonial period. Afterwards, visit the scenic Ben Thanh Central Market and the Thien Hau Temple (“Temple of the Sea Goddess”).

Day 5: Flight Saigon - Danang. Drive to Hoi An.
Flight from Saigon to Danang. On the journey to Hoi An we visit the “Marble Mountains”, where centuries-old cult sites can be seen in mystical caves. Drive to Hoi An (approx. 30 km). Overnight in Hoi An.




Day 6: Hoi An sightseeing. Drive to the Tra Que Herb Village – where vegetables and spices are grown. In the morning we visit the delightful old picturesque trading and port town of Hoi An with historic houses, many tasteful boutiques and art shops. The small streets have a mix of Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese culture. Then we drive to the nearby Tra Que Herb Village, where farmers grow their vegetables and spices. In the afternoon, swim on the beautiful beach of the China Sea. Overnight in Hoi An.


Day 7: Travel by bus to the old imperial city of Hue. By car: Hoi An - Danang - Hue. From Hoi An we drive over the “Pass of Sea Clouds”, which offers you wonderful views of the coast, to the former capital and imperial city of Hue, which was once considered the cultural, religious and political center of Vietnam. Overnight in Hue.

Day 8: Hue - boat trip on the Perfume River & Hue landmark tour. Today we take, among other things, a boat trip on the “Perfume River”, the “River of Pleasant Smells”, where we visit the Linh Mu Pagoda, the landmark of Hue, built on the hill. We also visit some imperial tombs from the Nguyen Dynasty, the remains of the imperial palace and the citadels. Overnight in Hue.



Day 9: Flight from Hue to Hanoi. Evening: Water puppet shows Hanoi. The image of Hanoi has changed positively in the last few years. State-of-the-art hotels, excellent restaurants, extremely tasteful boutiques and fine art galleries determine the cityscape. After arrival we drive to the centrally located hotel.

 

Day 10: Hanoi – sightseeing. Transfer to the airport. In the morning we visit the one-post pagoda, the Tran Quoc pagoda and the Temple of Literature, which was built in 1070 and is considered the first university. At lunchtime we visit Hoan Kiem Lake and the Ngoc Son Temple and stroll through the picturesque old town. We then visit the Quan Thanh Temple and the Ngoc Son Temple (Jade Mountain Temple).

Transfer to the airport. Flight Hanoi - …..
