One of the most beautiful Northern Thailand tours - with a German-speaking tour guide!

If you don't know Bangkok yet, you shouldn't miss taking a city tour to see the outstanding temples and glittering gold palaces of this cosmopolitan metropolis with your German-speaking tour guide. You visit Wat Po, the temple of the “Reclining Buddha”, the temple complex of the outstanding Emerald Buddha “Wat Phra Kaew”, as well as the fairytale royal palace. On a boat tour along the Chao Phaya River and into the tributaries of the Chao Phaya River, you will see how the Thais live on the river.
Overnight stay in a first class hotel in Bangkok.
This city tour is optional and costs €95 per person with lunch - order when booking.

Day 3: Bangkok - sensational railway market - floating market - "Bridge on the River Kwai" - raft trip and "showering under a tropical waterfall. Jungle of Sai Yok. N/F romantic houseboat in the jungle.
Your tour guide will pick you up from the hotel at 7:00 a.m. Bus ride along huge salt fields to a small coconut farm. In front of the “Floating Market” we see a unique spectacle - the quaint train market of Maeklong. Shortly before the train arrives, the market women fold up their stalls so that the train can pass. When the bell rings and the procession is over, the stall is folded back down and the market business continues. We then take a boat trip through the narrow waterways to the famous “floating market” of Damnoen Saduak, where market women with their wide-brimmed straw hats and colorful sarongs sell their goods from the boat, just like they did centuries ago. Fascinating to see how people haggle, exchange and sell. Drive to Sai Yok. After settling into the houseboat (simple but very clean - no mosquitoes!) we take a raft to a waterfall to shower. You will enjoy it - a unique experience! Pure nature. Excellent dinner, cozy get-together and overnight stay on the houseboat.

Day 4: Sai Yok - 'Bridge on the River Kwai' - Pitsanulok. In Kanchanaburi we visit the infamous “Bridge on the River Kwai”. Continue your journey along shimmering green rice fields via Supanburi to Pitsanulok. Overnight stay in a first class hotel.

Day 5: Pitsanulok - Chiang Rai. In the morning we visit a temple complex in Pitsanulok that is important to the Thais and has a highly revered, gilded bronze statue from the Sukhothai period. In the complex itself we see Thai dancers, fortune tellers, food stalls and stalls. We drive on a good road through the mountain jungle up to the north to Chiang Rai. Overnight stay in Chiang Rai in a first class hotel.

Day 6: Chiang Rai - 'Golden Triangle' - Laos - Thaton. After breakfast we visit the magnificent Wat Rong Khun (“White Temple”), where a contemporary Thai artist built his life's work.
Drive to the “Golden Triangle”, where the Mae Sai and Mekong rivers form the border between Laos, Burma and Thailand. Boat trip in the border triangle along Burma and Laos. We visit the Laotian river island of Koh Don Sao, where you can admire the handicrafts of the Laotians (no visa required for Laos). We will then visit an opium museum and your tour guide will tell you interesting facts about opium in the “Golden Triangle”. Drive through a fairytale landscape, past hill tribe villages, on the pass to Mae Salong. Once there, you think you are in a small Chinese village. During Mao's reign, an entire Chinese battalion fled from China via Burma to Mae Salong and settled there. The Mae Salong market offers a unique picture: women from the neighboring mountain villages, in their typical traditional costumes and with blood-red mouths chewing betel, offer their goods (fruit, vegetables, handmade souvenirs, etc.). Then we take a tour of the temple above the village, where an oversized Buddha figure watches over Thaton. Overnight stay in the romantic first class hotel Mae Kok River Resort, located on the river.

Day 7: Thaton – elephant safari – rafting – Chiang Mai.
An eventful day: after breakfast we go on an elephant safari, riding on the backs of the pachyderms for an hour through the lushly forested jungle and through a river. Afterwards we go to the elephant camp and we take part in the daily morning washing of the elephants. In a demonstration we see how the animals are prepared and trained for their jungle mission.
We glide on the river on a bamboo raft through the densely overgrown jungle landscape.
Continue to Chiang Mai. In the evening we recommend a shopping spree through the well-known and popular Night Bazaar. Overnight stay in a first class hotel in Chiang Mai.

Day 8: Chiang Mai - Butterfly and Orchid Farm – Craftsmanship – Doi Suthep. In the morning we visit a butterfly and orchid farm. We then visit the world-famous craft workshops in Bo Sang and San Khampeng with umbrella making, umbrella painting, silk weaving, silver processing and wood carving.
At the end of this very interesting tour we drive to Doi Suthep Temple (800 m above Chiang Mai). A jewel among Thai monasteries, this temple with a golden chedi offers magnificent panoramic views of Chiang Mai. Overnight stay in a first class hotel in Chiang Mai.
