The focus of this tour is the area along the Koek River with its idyllic mountain villages, which you can experience up close by traveling on a raft and spending the night in a Karen Lodge. This tour also includes the sights in Chiang Mai as well as an intensive sightseeing tour around the famous Golden Triangle.
Day 01: Chiang Mai - Doi Suthep - orchid farm - craft workshops.

We then drive to Doi Suthep Temple (800 m above Chiang Mai). A jewel among Thai monasteries, this temple with a golden chedi offers magnificent panoramic views of Chiang Mai. We then visit a butterfly and orchid farm. After lunch we visit the world-famous craft workshops in Bo Sang and San Khampeng with umbrella making, umbrella painting, silk and cotton weaving, silver processing and wood carving. Day 02: Chiang Mai – Hill Tribes – Cave Temple - Thaton.
Today we head north to a mountain village, home to the rare Palong tribe. Another stop follows at Wat Tum Tubtao, a cave temple in the wilderness. Continue on rural roads to Thaton. On the way we take a detour to a remote Lahu mountain village. Enjoy the beautiful view at the large Buddha statues of Wat Thaton. Today we stay in a romantic resort (simple, clean, romantic)
Day 3: Raft trip on the Koek River - overnight in a Karen village. F.M.A.
After breakfast you will drive to a Shan village, which is known for its weaving. We will then board the raft on which you will float comfortably downstream. You pass idyllic villages and always have the opportunity to take a short walk. In the late afternoon we reach a small Karen village, where we spend the night in a guesthouse. Very simple but clean accommodation. Spend the evening with the villagers and learn more about these friendly people in the mountain wilderness.
Day 04: Raft trip on the Koek River to Chiang Rai - elephant ride through the jungle. We continue our raft trip through the green wilderness, stopping at some hot springs along the way and reaching an elephant camp on the river. There we take a 1-hour ride on one of the good-natured pachyderms.
